Random name generator
First and last names for tests, characters, prototypes.
- Sourcecrypto.getRandomValues()
- Entropy—
- draws425
Names are drawn from a local dictionary of Italian first names, split by gender, using the same cryptographic primitive as every other tool. No external service calls: the pool ships in the JavaScript file and stays in the browser.
A useful warning: these names are invented as combinations, not as people. If you need realistic test data, they are perfect; if you need real personal data, this is not the road — and it should not exist.
How it works
- 01Pick the pool: full Italian names, female only or male only.
- 02Set how many names to generate and whether to add a surname.
- 03Copy the list: each line is an independent name, without duplicates within one generation.
Frequently asked
Random name generator
Are the names realistic?
They are common Italian names, randomly combined. The distribution does not mirror real registry data: never use them for demographics, only to fill empty fields.
Can I use these names in production?
For test data yes. For a real person no: they are random combinations and may coincide with someone without any consent.
Do you add more names?
The pool is a static, editable file. Anyone can extend it: it is text, not a remote database.
