Decision wheel
Chance decides, not the loudest voice.
- Sourcecrypto.getRandomValues()
- Entropy—
- draws1
A wheel is psychologically honest: it makes the delegation of choice visible. The winner is not decided by where the drawing stops — that would be an elegant cheat — but by a cryptographic draw before the animation. The animation displays a result that is already determined.
All segments have the same width. If one option must weigh more than another, the wheel is the wrong tool: you need an explicit probability distribution, not a wider slice drawn by eye.
How it works
- 01Enter two to twelve options, one per line.
- 02Spin: the winner is drawn before rotation and the final angle is computed to land on that segment.
- 03History shows the last outcomes, so repetitions stay visible instead of being forgotten.
Frequently asked
Decision wheel
Can the wheel be rigged?
No, and the code is readable: the winner is chosen by crypto.getRandomValues() before the animation. The final angle is a consequence, not a cause.
Can I weight the options?
Not in this version, and that is deliberate: a wheel with unequal segments looks fair but is not. Weighting needs explicit math, not a picture.
How many options can I add?
Two to twelve: beyond that labels become unreadable and the wheel stops being useful.
